The gynecology clinic at Care & Comfort Obstetrics & Gynecology is led by obstetrician Michelle Andre, MD. Dr. Andre is Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is a member of the American Medical Association, Louisiana State Medical Society, American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and Terrebonne Independent Physicians Association.

Born in Houma, Louisiana, Dr. Andre attended Terrebonne High School where she was a member of the Tigerettes Dance Team. During her years at Nicholls, she was a member of Sigma Sigma Sigma National Sorority and served on several philanthropic, service, and leadership organizations. Dr. Andre enjoys helping her community through organizations which serve children and women, particularly Junior Auxilary and the Haven. In her practice, she especially enjoys the opportunity to speak with and educate young women about their sexual health; and as a member of the International Society for the Study of Women’s Sexual Health (ISSWSH), advocated for the fair and equal allocation of resources for the development of treatments for women’s sexual dysfunction.

Kelsey Morris, FNP-C is a native and resident of Raceland, Louisiana. Upon graduating from Central Lafourche High School, Kelsey attended Nicholls State University where she finished in 2014 with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She obtained her registered nurse experience from Terrebonne General Medical Center and Ochsner St. Anne in labor and delivery until she finished with her Master of Science in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner in 2018 from Nicholls State University. After graduation, she began practicing at Franklin Foundation Hospital in women’s health but is excited to be back home and collaborating with Dr. Michelle Andre at Care and Comfort. She enjoys using her background and education to teach local nursing students about the labor and delivery process in the clinical setting through Fletcher Technical Community College. In her daily practice, Kelsey’s passion is teaching women about their sexual health, lifestyle, and keeping women up to date with best practice guidelines.

Shelly Matherne, WHNP-BC became a resident of Thibodaux, Louisiana after graduating from Nicholls State University in 2001 with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing as a Women’s Health Practitioner from the University of South Alabama in 2009. She is currently pursuing a Doctorate of Nursing in Advanced Practice Leadership from Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana. In addition to working here at Care and Comfort with Dr. Andre, she is employed at Nicholls State University in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program, where she teaches Maternal/Child Nursing, leading students to care for women during childbirth on labor and delivery. She is very passionate about Women’s Health and her previous employment includes almost 15 years in labor and delivery, and over 6 years of practice in OB/GYN. She is passionate about teaching and loves empowering women through education. She is married and the mother of two beautiful children.
